Inward Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Vietnam is a measure of the overall amount of direct investment in the reporting economy at the end of the year, broken down by industry sector. It is the sum of the value of foreign investors' equity in and net loans received by businesses in a certain industry that are based in the reporting economy at the end of the year.

A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the VND while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the VND.
