Dear members,
As you know, we have an auto update option for MetaTrader 4 accounts. With this method accounts update through the investor password. Since a few days, the accounts in auto update mode no longer update every 5 minutes and this is because brokers are blocking our servers. We have tens of thousands of accounts with this method and this is why the account might be still updating in other analysis websites using the investor password (as they have very few accounts which are yet to be noticed by brokers, but eventually will be).
If you wish to keep having an auto update option, we suggest contacting your broker regarding this issue as soon as possible so we can work with them toward a solution, otherwise, you'll have to revert to the EA/Publisher method.
Your feedback/comments/suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks.

This only refreshes the connection until is it blocked again (can be a matter of minutes or hours).

All the brokers blocked you at once?
Well, just want to say again you guys do one hell of a website.
Not sure if they are actively blocking us or maybe it has something to do with the latest build 500 of MT4, but it seems our servers are getting blocked by different brokers for the last few days (more and more brokers as time goes by). We did contact several brokers which are trying to find out what has changed on their end but it seems to be a global issue with MT4.
Not much to do from our end at this time.
Thanks for the feedback 😄

Hello Ethan,
I'm using Pepperstone. I don't think they are blocking anything but I noticed that the Auto Update option disappeared from the menu. Does that have to do with the broker or is there another reason? I was trying to add more accounts and I am not able at the moment.
MyFXBook is the best FX service on the web hands down. Please keep up the great work.

I have many accounts with auto update.
If i add your EA to each of them what would be the result on Myfxbook? Do i loose my existing accounts in my portfolio?

ok, i've contacted my broker (avafx) and they told me there will be no problems with them
but the autoupdate function DISAPPEARED from the new account menu
please can you restore it?
thanks
We've removed it for now due to the current situation. There is no point of adding accounts with this method if it stops working completely within the next few days.

No, switching to the EA will have no effect on your accounts.

Ouch! We depend very heavily on myfxbook...probably too much. It has become a core part of our activities and the auto-update feature is, by far, the most important part of the service to us. We have dozens of accounts and are constantly adding them and removing them and using myfxbook to share performance among our group. There is not another product, fully commercial or otherwise, which allows this for MT4. I'm sure many people share my sentiment. If autoupdate were gone, it would send us scrambling for a substitute as maintaining update EAs on all of our systems on various servers would be a huge inconvenience.
My preference (assuming I am allowed one!!) would be to have the Auto Update feature, even if some brokers blocked it, and to have myfxbook publish a list of those brokers who cooperate. I would seriously consider switching away from a broker that would not allow myfxbook connectivity. I suppose I am not alone to say this. Myfxbook has serious influence in this business and it cannot be ignored by brokers as they cannot offer a substitute.
That's my say. Would really like to see the auto update feature back quickly. Does anyone agree?

It is probably not the brokers but the Metaquotes... or I am wrong? Hm, really curious to understand. Also, I see huge delays in the competition's update but I guess it is not because of FxPro, right? (Mean with their acknowledgement of such blocking...)
Back to the topic, disabling the great auto update will hurt us and you. Better to find out what caused it and resolve the case. If it is Metaquotes it shows clearly their way (not just about that)...

Guys are you serious?
I am not gonna reinstall all my accounts and add EA to each mt4 I have.
It would be easier to go to MT4i which works.

Guys, we're working hard on fixing this while checking the issue with several brokers to see how can it be resolved.

Probably MT, they recently also blocked all third party developers, clearly part of some ongoing decision they've made...

Ethan,
It is an issue with metaquotes and I think they are currently working on a solution. Customers and vps providers' ip addresses have also been blocked. You should add back the auto update option but remove the shorter time frames checking periods until it is sorted out.
