I have been using IC Markets for over two years now and To be honest I enjoy everything about them , I can literally trade ic markets on tradingview and a lot of platforms which is a big plus for for me the customer service is top notch hands down .

This broker used to be good, but now they are clearly having problems with liquidity. The spread is often 4-5 times higher than it used to be. Instead of taking responsibility for the issue, the support team seems to be playing mind games.

I've been trading with IC Markets since 2022. However I've only recently learned (after execution irregularities) they are just another Market Maker, despite claiming ECN status in their marketing materials (my entire reasons for investing with them).
Your trades will never go out to the market, rather they are held internally and they act as the sole counterparty. They also claim no dealing desk which is outright false, they selectively hedge risk which is a prerequisite to a dealing desk. The complication this introduces is a direct conflict of interest. They can and will manipulate execution, price, slippage etc - especially when you're using a higher leverage (they go up to 1:500) they can and will manipulate "live" conditions in their favour; and traders are unlikely to notice.
Any profits generated are at a direct loss to IC Markets. Your losses are their profits so whilst you may see some success, they will not pay out large profits as it's coming out of their own pockets.
What's more, they terminated all trading accounts with no reasoning as soon as a complaint of fraudulent misrepresentation was made against them.
Ignore all their fraudulent marketing claims and do the due diligence before depositing a penny with them. Lesson learned.

ASIC regulated (Australia), tight spreads, decent commisions, good swap rates and allows copy trading through cTrader.
What would you improve about IC Markets?
Nothing I've noticed so far. I've not had to contact customer service so I cannot rate that at the moment.

IC Markets offers some of the tightest spreads I have found with regulated ASIC brokers. The swap rates are very competitive. I've been very happy with this broker for just over 6 months now.

What I appreciated the most about IC Markets is definitely the fast order execution and the highly competitive spreads, especially on ECN accounts. The platform is stable, intuitive, and perfect for scalping or using EAs. The customer support is also excellent—always available and quick to respond.

In my opinion, they could improve their educational resources for beginner traders and slightly expand the withdrawal options to make them more flexible. Adding more analysis tools directly on the platform would also be a great plus.
