it has been five hours and your drawdown is slightly large.

how about an update?

it requires a whole three or four keystrokes.

damm..

I was thinking ... (which I know only gets me in trouble most of the time) ... if I have E/U and G/U trades in the opposite direction most of the time, it's like I'm trading EUR/GBP, isn't it? Short E/U & long G/U is a short E/G and vice versa.

the oanda platform has a feature called an exposure tab.

i believe that if you open a eurusd and a gbpusd and check the exposure tab and then close out those trades and then open a eurgbp trade and then check the exposure tab...

i believe that you will find that they are not the same.

I did indeed, so much for your hiding my DD theory. Say sorry Zero, you accused me falsely.

It's ok though, doesn't happen to often. First time in 6 months, some serious dislocations in the market. Recovery should be sharp, market doesn't tolerate this for long.

And you might notice it updated again as my laptop is now on. I'm on a GMT time zone, might have to wait a little bit for the updates sometimes you know....

What is very interesting to note is fxbook doesn't update the graphs unless you do a trade. So this DD will disappear unless I do a trade...the entire event remains un-captured.

TOOLS>OPTIONS>PUBLISHER>TEST

this forces metatrader to update immediately.

It is updated - the point you missed entirely is unless I do a trade the DD will not be captured, which means it's easy to manipulate the published results.

Top of the morning, gentlemen.

Edward you're right about the Exposure, thanks for the heads up. Heads up is always better than heads down, especially when they're down on railroad tracks. Ha-ha.

So long EU and short GU means long EG, with a little additional USD exposure. Good to learn something new every day.

<a href='' target='_blank'><img src=''/></a>

As for manipulating the published results, you can use plain old FTP to upload your MT4 statements to the site, just as with mt4i.com, mt4stats.com and fxstat.com. You can cook your own statement, play with the numbers if you like and then upload it. So it's probably a good idea to be a little cautious with what you see ... snake oil peddlers are everywhere.

I think fxbooks verification procedures make that difficult as they read from the broker as well, you supply the investor password. So good chance the results are real, but the equity curves are not reliable..

Just wish this lot would sort itself out now, I have my tickets and I need to go do stuff, don't want to sit around here all day trying to manage a DD on a $100 account..

Yes Edward, I know. Weeks ago, I had a programmer look at the C language CGI program you posted on Oanda forums and also the webshops you mentioned as your work. My mate told me you're good.

The big mistake I made on this one was yesterday morning, where I went large in a quiet market...and that's all me. Which is why I automate.

Never been much of a trader....

Hm, that is one of the most fascinating things ... people can succeed so many different ways. Diversity is not overrated.
Winsor, a member here, for instance, says the opposite:
'Learn how to trade manually first before you start coding!'
And he's in the black too. If you have profits, it's good. The checkout boy never asked me how I made the money I'm about to spend in the shop.

Gary player said it best: 'Funny - more I practice the luckier I get....'

I don't think it matter which way around you approach it, long as you keep practising...

K well,

Events are over taking me and I can no longer really take care of this DD. I have to go run around. So I'm just going to leave the thing and go do my stuff. If it gets nuked it gets nuked...

Why don't just close it wherever it is then bid farewell? Why do you want to give ammo to people so they can (possibly) say 'you speak, you who margin called yourself after 10 years of trading?' or some shit like that. The curve is still in profit, that is what matters....
