Germany Ifo Business Climate
According Entrepreneurs' feelings about their current business position and their aspirations for the next six months are measured by the IFO Business Climate Index, which is used in Germany. The poll is conducted over the phone and includes 9,000 organizations from the manufacturing, service, commerce, and construction industries. The difference between the percentage share of executives who are optimistic and the percentage share of executives who are pessimistic is calculated by the Business Climate Balance. This balance can have values ranging from -100 (all responding firms consider their situation to be terrible and anticipate that business will decline) to +100 (all responding firms believe their situation to be excellent and expect business to improve). To calculate the IFO Business Climate Index, the Balance is normalized to the average of a base year's balance (currently 2015).
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.

Eurozone Private Sector Maintains Expansion
The euro area economy continued to expand in September, with broad-based growth in Germany, Italy and Spain, while France contracted further due to political uncertainty, final survey data from S&P Global revealed on Friday. The final HCOB composite output index rose moderately to 51.2 in September, in line with flash estimate, from 51.0 in the previous month.

Eurozone Jobless Rate Rises Slightly
The euro area unemployment rate rose slightly in August but remained near record lows despite weaker economic activity. The jobless rate climbed marginally to 6.3 percent in August from 6.2 percent in July, Eurostat said Thursday. The rate was forecast to remain unchanged at 6.2 percent.
