Portugal Balance of Trade
Compared to the previous year, Portugal's trade imbalance climbed by 23.4 percent, reaching EUR 13.8 billion in 2017. This is the largest growth in the country's trade since 2011. Imports surged by 12.5%, the highest level since 2010, while exports increased at a lesser rate of 10.1%, the highest level since 2011. The countries with the largest trade imbalances were Spain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, and China, while the countries with the largest trade surpluses were the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.

Eurozone Private Sector Growth At 1-Year High
The euro area private sector expanded at the fastest pace in a year in August but the overall pace was sluggish as the service sector held back growth, final survey data from S&P Global showed on Wednesday. The HCOB composite output index rose to 51.0 in August from 50.9 in July. The score was slightly below the initial estimate of 51.1.

Eurozone Inflation Rises Slightly To 2.1%
Eurozone inflation rose marginally in August but the rate remained near to the European Central Bank's 2 percent target, official data revealed on Tuesday. The harmonized index of consumer prices rose 2.1 percent year-on-year in August, slightly faster than the 2.0 percent increase in July, flash data from Eurostat showed.
