The fourth-largest economy in the Euro Zone and the fifth largest economy in the European Union, Spain boasts a thriving and diverse manufacturing industry, and it is also one of the world's most popular tourism destinations. Spain's GDP is dominated by household consumption (58% of GDP), followed by gross fixed capital formation (21%) and government expenditure (18%). In terms of investments, concrete fixed assets account for 18% of GDP, with construction accounting for 10% and machinery, equipment, and weapon systems accounting for 7%, intellectual property goods account for the remaining 3%. Adding 3% of total GDP, exports of goods and services account for 34%, while imports account for 31%.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.
