A total of 16% of GDP comes from private investment, while 18% comes from government consumption and investment. Consequently, net exports deduct 3% from total GDP since the value of products exported (13.5%) is less than the value of goods imported (16.5%).
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the USD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the USD.
