So, how did we get to the solution that 1 percent of 59 = 0.59?

**Step 1:**As we know, a whole of something is equal to 100%. In this case, we want to find what 1% of 59 is. We know that 100% of 59 is, well, just 59.**Step 2:**If 100% of 59 is 59, then we can get 1% of 59 by dividing it by 100. Let's do 59 / 100. This is equal to 0.59. Now we know that 1% is 0.59.**Step 3:**Now that we know what 1% of 59 is, we just need to multiply it by 1 to get our solution! 0.59 times 1 = 0.59. That's all there is to it!
