I agree, it's best just to disable windows updates. I also have a script in my startup folder that automatically restarts MetaTrader in the event of an unplanned restart. VPS are fairly inexpensive and a good investment imo. Even free through AWS.

Programmers, I need clarification and ideas on spread

You might want to look at USDJPY. The average spread from IC Markets on my live ECN account is 0.5 pips, but they take 0.07$ / micro lot. I still prefer paying commission since it gives me the option to include / exclude it from my profit targets.
