Australia Building Approvals Jump 11.9% In June

(RTTNews) - The total number of building approvals issued in Australia in June was up a seasonally adjusted 11.9 percent on month, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday - coming in at 17,076.
That was in line with expectations following the 3.2 percent increase in May.
On a yearly basis, building approvals were up 27.4 percent.
Approvals for private sector houses slipped 2.0 percent on month and added 0.2 percent on year at 9,142. Approvals for private sector dwellings excluding houses surged 33.1 percent on month and 87.1 percent on year to 7,594.
The value of total residential building rose 0.3 percent to A$9.41 billion, while the value of total non-residential building rose 15.0 percent to A$7.23 billion.
