Australia Retail Sales Sink 0.2% In October

(RTTNews) - The value of retail sales in Australia was down a seasonally adjusted 0.2 percent on month in October, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday - coming in at A$35.767 billion.
That missed expectations for an increase of 0.2 percent and was down from 0.9 percent in September.
Individually, sales were up for food products, but down for household goods, clothing, department store sales, restaurants and other retailing.
By region, sales rose in Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania but were down in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Northern Territory and the Capital Territory.
On a yearly basis, retail sales rose 1.2 percent.
