(RTTNews) - As expected, the European Central Bank kept its main refinancing rate steady at 4.5 percent. Following the announcement, the euro traded mixed against its major opponents. While it fell against the dollar, it changed little against the rest of major rivals.
The euro was trading at 158.40 against the yen, 0.9461 against the franc, 0.8713 against the pound and 1.0533 against the greenback around 8:20 am ET.
