Malaysia Manufacturing PMI Improves In June - S&P Global

(RTTNews) - The manufacturing sector in Malaysia continued to contract in June, albeit at a slower pace, the latest survey from S&P Global showed on Tuesday with a manufacturing PMI score of 49.3.
That's up from 48.8, although it remains beneath the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
New orders moderated for the fourth consecutive month during June, though the rate of reduction was the softest seen over this sequence. Where sales fell, firms mentioned subdued client confidence, though some companies signaled that a gradual improvement in demand conditions was underway.
Data suggested that the softer reduction in total sales in part reflected an easing in the decline in new export orders. In fact, the latest reduction was also the slowest since the current sequence which began in December.
