Malaysian Ringgit Retreats To More Than 2-month Low Against U.S. Dollar

(RTTNews) - The Malaysian Ringgit retreated from a recent gain against the U.S. dollar in the Asian session on Wednesday.

Against the greenback, the ringgit fell to more than a 2-month low of 4.6770 from a recent 2-day high of 4.6450. At yesterday's close, the ringgit was trading at 4.6600 against the greenback.

If the ringgit extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around the 4.70 area.

Existing home sales in the U.S. unexpectedly saw further downside in the month of April, according to a report released by the National Association of Realtors on Thursday. NAR said existing home sales fell by 0.5 percent to an annual rate of 4.00 million in April after plunging by 5.9 percent to a rate of 4.02 million in March.
