New Zealand Building Permits Slip 2.3% In June

(RTTNews) - The total number of building permits issued in New Zealand was down a seasonally adjusted 2.3 percent on month in June, Statistics New Zealand said on Monday - coming in at 4,037.
That follows the 0.5 percent monthly decline in May.
On a yearly basis, the number of new dwellings consented was 50,736, up 14 percent from the year ended June 2021.
The annual value of non-residential building work consented was $9.0 billion, up 16 percent from the year ended June 2021.

The total number of building permits issued in New Zealand was down a seasonally adjusted 15.6 percent on month in April, Statistics New Zealand said on Friday - following the 10.7 percent increase in March.
In April, there were 2,418 new dwellings consented, comprising: 1,148 stand-alone houses; 1,105 townhouses, flats, and units; 85 retirement village units; and 80 apartments.

New Zealand's trade surplus increased more than expected in March to the highest level since the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 as exports to China and the US logged double-digit growth, official data revealed on Tuesday.
