ESMA and its implication
in
General

This is exactly what I meant that the rule works best for brokers/dealing desk in particular as now traders will require a bigger account size to participate and the system shuts off small sized traders altogether. with $100 or less with 1:500 leverage the odds is better with the trader. This rule basically kills small capital trading.

Here is a broker who is both UK and Seychelles FCA regulated. In their faq section, clients can opt in for Seychelles regulation for higher leverage but has to be a resident outside Europe. Can I choose to trade under Tickmill Ltd (FSA SC Regulated) as a Retail Client? In the event you do not wish or do not meet the criteria to be classified as a Professional Client but, at the same time, wish to receive higher leverage, you may be entitled to register under Tickmill Ltd (FSA Seychelles). The condition to be able to register with Tickmill Ltd at the moment is to be a permanent resident of a coun...

It is possible for EU regulators can go after offshore brokers accepting EU clients. Just like US and Japanese regulators fined many brokers signing up their citizens.

The win rate is better going long based on statistics. Plus it is easier for me to place trades in one direction. It's my own personal preference that's all.

Yes, the leverage drop can not help bad trading. I think the main purpose is to protect brokers from smart traders taking very small risk capital to make 100x or 1000x easily. This is what affecting their bottom line.

50℅ margin closeout rule has been there for years. This is nothing new. Why it is hilited and relevant now is that leverage will be significantly reduced with ESMA ruling hence traders are more likely to encounter margin calls. I think the broker is doing due diligence to alert the fact.

I replied to your query but it isn't showing up. Here's my 2nd try. I trade based on news, data and apply technical analysis. The approach of trading is similar to Wyckoff's method of buying at the value zone in sync during accumulation phase and exit at the "mark up" phase. Simple but very effective.

Manual trading using long term news forecast and technical analysis. I use wyckoff method of accumulating asset at value zone and exit when price is "marked up".

Typically demo trading starts once you have completed backtesting and has some form of trading rules or plan. Then forward test to verify if the results correlate with your backtested results and then you fine tune it further.I have put together a 10/20/30 Rule which I have crafted for anyone to build a robust strategy quickly. PM if you want a free copy of my ebook on 10/20/30 Rule.
How to know average drawdown per trade?

The historical drawdown is clearly captured in myfxbook. Just click on the "Drawdown" tab just above Gain chart and it will show the full history of the drawdown.I agree the max drawdown value on the main summary page is not aligned. Maybe myfxbook can look into this.

Metaquotes publishes end of day statement that has timestamp, order id, price, equity, which you can find under the history tab. From this information available on the statements, you can write a program to plot daily end-of-day metrics like equity chart, drawdown, MAE, profit factor etc even if the trader has shutdown his or her machine as these statements are generated from live servers and all regulated brokers keep such records as long as the account is active. Yes some bucket shop brokers delete old statements as it takes valuable storage space. It is up to the good analytical program to e...

Now you are askng another question. The point is that MAE is used to see how much one trade had been dragged down before it was closed to answer your original query.

The Maximum Adverse Excursion (MAE) can reveal the maximum loss, either as a percentage or pips, a trade had performed before the trade is closed.MAE can be used to optimize stoploss limit setting by looking at the level (negative gaon or pips) where the losing trades are unlikely to recover.

I agree with this advice strongly. Always build up your system in small steps...move to the next phase only if it passes the expected performance or criteria.
i have a profitable trading system but how to earn ?

If you have a profitable trading system, my advice, is keep trading and continue to fine tune it for consistent return. Build at least 9 months of trading record to tell you the system is ready for long term growth. Then allow it to trade and let compounding growth drive the earnings. At the same time offer the system to investors and earn risk free income.
Do you prefer fixed spreads or dynamic spreads?

Staying with the topic on fixed and variable spreads, will a commission based trades offer better execution and reduce slippage during big news? Is this a better option for people tading on news? Thanks in advance for the feedback.
