Are we using SL Tool right?

You're right. We believe a trailing stop [to protect profit] and a black swan hard stop are the two most vital ways to use the SL tool. Most traders shoot themselves in the leg with it

This is so right! We should send you a cold drink for that comment.Information overload is one of the biggest enemies in trading. People learn so much, watch so much, add indicator after indicator… and end up creating noise instead of clarity. We made that mistake years ago too.. charts full of indicators, hours staring at screens, and the results were terrible. Now we have 2 rules: Keep a clear screen. No trade should take more than two minutes to execute. The decision is already made before we even get to the chart.Because the market doesn’t actually move on the chart, it moves in...

That’s a very solid approach. Keeping drawdown under 5% already shows strong discipline. And I agree with your point. Drawdown control matters more than the raw return. In our case, the results have been consistent largely because of how we approach the market. We treat it like any other marketplace... similar to trading grains, shoes, or books etc. That mindset alone changes how trades are taken and managed.

That’s a good point. A moving or trailing stop can definitely help manage trades dynamically. In our case, we run the system a bit differently. We keep a long range switch mainly for rare black swan events, but the real protection comes from risk management and position sizing, not the stop itself. That’s the principle our model has been built around since 2022, and the consistency we’ve shared since 2023 largely comes from that discipline.

Exactly. There’s really no basis for trading without understanding market structure, like you said. The interesting part is that many people treat Forex market structure as if it’s some completely different science filled with complicated terms. In reality, it’s not that different from any other market. It's all buying and selling and risks. Each market has its own dynamics of course, but the core laws are the same. Once traders realize that the same principles driving commodity markets also drive FX, things start to make much more sense. That’s actually the foundation...
Too Many Tools Can Kill Your Trading

Even experienced traders fall into the trap of excessive indicators. Many think more tools = more insight, but most indicators measure the same thing: momentum, price action, or trend. When charts are crowded and multiple assets are traded simultaneously, strategies begin to fail. The real skill is knowing what to keep, what to discard, and how to synthesize a simple, repeatable process. In our system, which we also automate for interested persons, we focus on a disciplined, streamlined approach, three currency pairs, minimal clutter, and tools that actually improve decision-making. How many to...
TRADING MISTAKES - ROOKIE ERRORS TO AVOID

A common beginner mistake is overtrading... trying to trade every asset, every price movement, every news event. The market punishes this. Many traders end up revenge-trading, chasing losses, and compounding mistakes. In our system, we focus exclusively on three currency pairs: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and EUR/GBP. These pairs have enough data and economic context to study properly. By keeping our focus narrow, we trade smarter, not harder, and that’s how our accounts, and our clients’ accounts consistently grow. What other beginner mistakes do you know?

If I have a trading strategy that delivers consistent 15–30% monthly returns, with maximum drawdowns of 10–20% and proper risk management, how would that rank compared to the global average for professional traders?
RISK MANAGEMENT

Many traders are told it’s “fine” to risk 10–15% per trade, aiming for a 2:1 reward-to-risk. In reality, this exposes accounts to huge losses. Most traders eventually wipe out.In our system, we never risk more than 2% per trade. By keeping exposure low, our accounts avoid deep drawdowns beyond ~15%, grow organically, and let us sleep at night. Discipline and proper risk management beat chasing big wins every time.

This is true. And I think the best way to protect an account is to avoid deep drawdowns in the first place. That comes from proper risk management. Cut your lot size and the number of trades. I never risk more than a fixed 2% per trade in a world where the market proposes 10%. Here’s a snapshot of how our system manages it in real time.

Risk management is probably the most effective form of stop loss. I think I will share that in my next post

Have you ever noticed that sometimes a trade hits your stop-loss only to reverse and move in your original direction? It’s not always a bad entry. The market is designed so that institutions often push prices against the masses, knowing where stop-losses are likely set. Many traders lose because they treat stop-losses as just a safety net, but in reality, they’re often used against them.I believe stop-losses work best for two things:1. Protecting profits once a trade is in your favor2. Safeguarding the account from rare, catastrophic events (black swans) Ultimately, the best stop-l...

The Forex market works like any other market. Think of it like a fish market. Prices move based on fundamental forces: supply, demand, scarcity, and economic fluctuations. Yet many new traders lose money because they copy strategies they see online without understanding why those strategies work. For example, you might see someone combine RSI and MACD to “catch 100 pips,” but do you know what momentum is and why it matters? Understanding the market first, not the indicator is what separates consistent traders from gamblers In our approach, which we automate for users, we focus excl...
