*My EA System Thinks 24/7 So My Brain Doesn't Have To*
v
Obecné
Apr 21 at 08:24
Employing an EA can definitely reduce overtrading, but it doesn’t remove the need for discipline. You’re just shifting the responsibility from execution to system design and risk control. If the logic isn’t solid, the EA will just overtrade faster and more consistently than you ever could. Automating entries or execution makes sense, but position sizing and risk rules should always be tightly controlled. The edge still comes from the strategy, not the fact that it’s automated.
What is your expectation about monthly return at forex trading?
v

Apr 17 at 09:39
I would say it depends a lot on system performance, your risk-reward, win rate, and overall expectancy. Those numbers define what’s realistic. Some months you might hit 10–15%, but maintaining that consistently is the hard part. Focusing on stable returns and controlled drawdown usually works better than aiming for fixed monthly targets.
Fair Value Gap (FVG) – Complete Guide

Apr 17 at 09:35
If we look at the opposite of FVG, it’s basically areas where price traded efficiently with balanced order flow. Those zones don’t have the same pull for price to return. That’s why not every move needs to be filled. FVG works best in context, but assuming price must always come back can lead to missed moves or bad entries.
Plantation trading

Short story is he probably got comfortable and broke his own rules. It usually doesn’t happen in one trade, it’s a series of small lapses that build up. After growing an account like that, confidence can turn into overconfidence. One oversized position or ignoring risk is all it takes to wipe out years of work.
Why Do Some Traders Stay Profitable With Very Low Win Rates?
v

Apr 16 at 10:15
It’s easy to understand in theory but harder in execution. Low win rate systems only work when you actually stick to the risk/reward structure without hesitation, and most traders struggle with that in real time. The discipline to take losses cleanly and let winners run is what really separates profitable traders from the rest.
Need system for avoid overtrading.

Can’t ignore the psychological side of it. Even with a solid system, overtrading usually comes from emotions like boredom, FOMO, or trying to recover losses, not the strategy itself. Risk rules help, but if discipline isn’t there, traders still find ways to break them. That’s why execution matters just as much as the setup.
Consistency beats excitement

Filtering is a big part of it. Not every setup is worth taking, even if it looks good at first. The more selective you get, the less noise you deal with. It’s not exciting, but that’s kind of the point. Consistency usually comes from doing less, not more.
TRADING MISTAKES - ROOKIE ERRORS TO AVOID

Apr 13 at 05:11
Blind trust in signals, indicators, and other people’s setups is another big one. A lot of beginners follow things without really understanding why a trade is taken. It might work for a while, but long term it usually leads to confusion and losses. Building your own understanding is way more important than copying trades.
Are we using SL Tool right?

Counting pips alone can be misleading if it’s not tied to structure and risk per trade. A tight stop in the wrong place just gets picked off, a wide one kills R:R. Position sizing does most of the real protection anyway. Stops should make sense with the setup, not just a fixed number.
How do you manage risk during high-impact news events in forex trading?

Apr 03 at 11:18
If you trade news, you’re basically trading volatility, not clean structure. Most either cut size hard or just wait for the first reaction to settle before getting involved. Spreads and slippage can mess up even a good idea. Sitting out is underrated too, not every move is worth the risk.

Probably bouncy. It tends to react a lot to macro shifts and sentiment, so clean trends don’t always last long.
Thoughts on Hola Prime?
v
Mar 27 at 06:03
I’m thinking about starting with Hola Prime as a day trader. Are there any key requirements or potential issues I should be aware of before getting started? The trading conditions seem reasonable, and I’m leaning toward a smaller firm since I haven’t had a great experience with customer support at larger companies. Any insights or recommendations would be appreciated 👍
How Does Your Strategy Compare Globally?

I guess the global average for professional traders is much lower than that. If those numbers are consistent over time with controlled drawdown, that would already place it well above average.
AI Development in Trading – Hype or Real Advantage?

Mar 17 at 09:13
New gen traders will definitely lean more toward AI tools, but I think it will stay more of a support system than a replacement. Markets keep changing, and human judgment still matters when conditions shift beyond what the model was trained for.
Is Risk Management More Important Than Strategy?
v

Mar 16 at 10:29
I don’t really see strategy and risk management as separate things. In many ways they work together as part of the same system. A good strategy already includes how much risk to take and when to step back if conditions change.
Why Forex Traders Often Think in Shorter Cycles
v

Mar 16 at 10:19
Retail traders usually can’t hold positions long term the same way institutions can. Margin requirements and account size make that difficult in many cases. That’s why a lot of retail traders prefer day trading or swing trading instead.

Love seeing experienced traders join the forum. Seventeen years in the market probably comes with a lot of lessons most of us learn the hard way. Looking forward to hearing some of the insights you’ve picked up over the years.
What I Wish I Knew When I Started Trading

Mar 13 at 11:34
Probably understanding probability. At first I kept expecting every trade to work out, but trading is really about playing the odds over many trades. Accepting losses as part of the process was the hardest mindset shift for me. Once I started thinking in probabilities, things began to make more sense.
What is the perfect time zone to trade forex? Why is that?
v

Mar 13 at 11:23
At the end of the day, the main thing to look at with time zones is liquidity and volatility. Those two factors usually determine whether the market offers clean moves or just slow ranges. That’s why many traders focus on sessions where participation is highest rather than trying to trade every hour of the day.

It’s not just one tough part, but the whole process behind trading. Learning risk control, managing emotions, and staying consistent all take time to really understand.
