No they don't you miss understood it , if you won then contest then you have to verify that your information are true.

No, I didn't misunderstand it. I have accounts with them, live and demo. When I first signed up or tried to get a demo account with them I had to get a live account and then I had to sign up for the demo thru it. I did not have to fund the account, but I had to open it.

FX Choice is the sponsoring broker for the competition so naturally they are going to promote their business and encourage people to sign up for a Live account.
However, you can choose to simply stick with your demo account for the competition and ignore the prompts to open a live account.
Please provide a link to proof that it is not mandatory. Numerous people have already shown emails from the broker telling them they MUST register (I got that email too)... AND they have added a paragraph to the rules page that was not there before that states traders must provide their documents.

To receive a funded FX Choice live account your account application will undergo the normal FX Choice account opening process.
The key word is FUNDED.
I haven't received any email requesting additional information from FX Choice. They did provide my demo ID login and password and I'm ready to take all of you on next week. See you there ;)

I sent an email to my sales rep at FX Choice and asked him to clarify the issue. I'll post his reply when I receive it.

I felt I had to reply, because I feel some of these post above are created to try slander the broker's name. I have been using Fxchoice for 5 months. Live and demo.
Firstly you can sign up for a demo without signing up for a live account. I signed up another account earlier the week without a problem. ( not related the contest)
Secondly, I didn't received any email for any verification. I receive only one with my account information.
Most importantly if you've receive your login information and it works. What's the fret. Its a demo acocunt no work on your part.
Tons of winning for no reason.

Nope.
The key words are "IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE".
As seen in the rules page:
"To participate in the FX Choice Contest you have to register for the contest providing the details requested. Each participant will have to supply proof of identity and address documents to be verified."
And in the emails we have received...this quote coming from the SECOND email I received telling me to send documents:
"But I would like to remind you that in order to participate in this contest you need to verify your account. To verify your account please send your ID Proof and Current Address Proof directly to me..."
The subject line of the email above read:
"Hurry it's urgent !!!!! Please get your profile VERIFIED to participate in our 10000 USD forex trading Contest through myfxbook.com"
aaceofspades - You probably didn't see any emails from them because they are in your Spam/Junk folder, that's where mine were. That's also where they belong IMO.

This procedure is very simple and can be done by logging in to the backoffice at www.myfxchoice.com as described on the email sent out recently to all participants. Your FX Choice backoffice profile will be created automatically once we get your information from myfxbook. Usually accounts opened today will have an FX Choice profile by next day. Please check this link for help on verification http://myfxchoice.com/accounts/verification-procedure

I contacted FX Choice about verifying the account in order to participate. Here is the transcript.
Me: Hello Esi, I have registered for the myfxbook competition. I do not wish to open a live account. am i required to verify my ID and address if i only want to use the demo account for the competition?
Esi: Yes, as per terms and conditions of the Contest, you need to verify your account in order to participate in it
Me: to do this, you require a copy of my ID and proof of address?
Esi: Yes. Here you can find more detailed information: http://myfxchoice.com/accounts/verification-procedure/
Summary - if you want to participate in the competition, you have to provide your ID and proof of address to them so they can verify how you are. However, you do not need to open a live account.
