the title of this thread so amazed me too certain extend ' 5% average monthly profit for at least 2 years (with less than 25% max. DD) ' . I was wondering any1 managed to catch this ? i not managed to go through all the messages but from what i can tell is he's looking for a person who is high risk low return trader. risking 25% for 5 % reward?? seriously, we need to be more careful when choosing a money manager.

You are right Alfred. I am the one who had started this thread more than 2 years ago, and the main part of the title is: 'AT LEAST'...

5% per month with max. 25% DD is not ideal. I agree. But what has amazed me that no one legitimate and verified strategy could achieve even this less than ideal criteria for performance.

What is the conclusion...? The money managers of such good strategies stay anonym and won't even post here (if they have ever met this thread).

I think the fact is that earning 5% should be easy to do, but finding someone who is consistent in order to do so is the hardest part. I do believe there are many wonderful systems out there, but traders interfere with that trading thus adding the 'Human factor' to it which ends up blowing the account. I on the other hand have noticed the last 6+ months many account managers have blown their account trading against EU, and not following through with the money management plan.

I agree with you fully. Not the average 5% per month is the hard part (for at least short term), but the LONG TERM CONSISTENCY.

Why? Markets always change and they have hundreds of 'behaviour patterns', not just two (trending/non-trending). There are very few EAs and money managers who can rapidly adapt to these changes and remain profitable long term. And of course those strategies are not for the public (as they make their profits ON the public).

It seems to me that it is a trend trading strategy is the most stable at the moment, in times of crisis, when the falls and economic recovery particularly intense and unpredictable.

The strategy gives a 15% profit per month.

Very interesting topic. I agree that this type of system is out there... but why would someone with it bother to posting it on here... they aren't going to be seeking validation or help with this system if profitable. My goal is to create this kind of system (as is everyone's) Very early on, but showing promise. Automated system, risk per trade set at 1%, profit is variable but averages 6-8 times risk.

maybe he could at a higher risk, but then that would defeat the point of consistency that he is reaching for.
