Hi guys,
Can you please advise which brokers allow you to keep Demo accounts open indefinitely? I'm currently using Alpari UK but they close them down after 30 days of no trades and I want to list my demo accounts on here on a monthly basis. As I am now done with Dec14, there will be no more trades on that account but I need to keep all the trades I did on it 'clickable' via MyFXBook.
Thanks

To be honest, new traders should avoid these type brokers; since only 30 days even 6 months are not enough in general. So, using a wide demo service is important.

Even if they close them down after 30 days you can just open another one. I know that Admiral will give you a demo account for life if you open a live account with them

The demo account is the master place for a beginner to acquire all basic fundament information which is very supportive to continue a live account in a proper way. But practically most of the beginners don’t believe the importance of this trading place at all. In my trading career, I use all my trading strategies in demo trading to see the performance how it works.

The beginner should use demo account minimum for three months, sometimes many brokers organize demo contest with real money prizing. Newcomers can join here. It could be great to acquire real trading exeprince.

Nice to know, you used the demo on the right way! By the way, I have one question to you; if you don’t mind actually! How many months you used the demo?

I don’t know; why you asked that question; because as I see; it varies on traders to traders! But generally it takes such a long time to learn Forex.

true, trade on demo until you think your strategies are ready to be applied on real money. once your strategies are up and working, only then shift to real account.

I don’t think; in the beginning stage; demo contest is relevant; since new traders need to focus on learning only.

according to me, if any newcomer has 6 months demos experience including a knowledge from pips school , $500 is more appropriate to kick off a live account.

I can't say which one exactly, but that is really bad, you shouldn't deal with that brokers anyway. I assume demo account should be open for something like .....indefinite term of use, cause you may have other plans or something like that. They shouldn't force you to live one.

trading in demo is useful , but there is no real money , for that reason we don't trade here seriously. but in demo trading on various currency is really supportive to increase trading knowledge.

In this case, we need to work with small trading balance of demo! Because, I see with a healthy virtual balance, new traders lose their momentum too early!

Really? Interesting, but I though they are very straight forward on this time period rule on demo.

I don’t think, it’s good choice! I mean, having any particular target on demo! New traders should practice their demo until they have a consistent result! Otherwise, the live trading will be painful.

Yes, I do agree with many people that they should allow to trade on demo for like 1 year probably and then switch you to paid anyway. See my point ? I am totally lost here completely. Thanks for this matter, I do hope to work with it. Glad to have you here.
