Unbreakable In Trading Systems by stevetrade - Jul 20, 2010 at 12:20
I am intrigued to know why your modelling quality is n/a though. You're running a 5 minute backtest on every tick and you have no mismatched chart errors. What's interesting is that you have 87151 bars in the test and 87151 ticks modelled.Which doesn't stack up.Maybe you're just doing something so clever that I've never seen ...

Why people generally prefer to buy EA instead of m... In Experienced Traders by bestforexea - Jul 20, 2010 at 01:21
I have a theory here... Probably a hypothesis.EA is a software with an ability to code and recode. It is term as a robot, because it does something mechanical. So in a very general term it is a toy. A big boy's toy who can spend the money and put it in the field to play with. There are some forums, which mainly talk about how to optimize i...

Behemoth - All pairs In Trading Systems by stevetrade - Jul 19, 2010 at 16:07
Well, GbpUsd appears to be the only pair on this aggressive test that has any promise. I'm going to discontinue this test and continue the conservative test for a while longer to see how that works out.
Transaction costs In Experienced Traders by forex_trader_7 - Jul 19, 2010 at 15:58
Want to see how expensive this 0 comm's trading is?Take a Ecn broker, open 50% of the margin long and 50% short at the same time so it's hedged on the same pair. Check what happened to your equity.Got a good mind to switch back to stocks.

time stamp In Suggestion Box by pmeice86 - Jul 19, 2010 at 04:15
There's still something funky with the time settings (at least for my Oanda account). The myfxbook system seems to assume that Oanda's times are in the same time zone as me, but that isn't the case. My account summary comes out in EDT or EST, but I live in PST, so almost everything is posted in eastern time. However, the "o...
MT4-hedged In Trading Systems by CuongVC - Jul 19, 2010 at 04:12
This looks bad on groth chart but actually a 12% absolute gain. It is because I start with small capital (300USD) and trade heavily and fail then I add more capital and trade much smaller then it is gaining rather consistently. It is much easiear this way.
Oanda In Trading Systems by pmeice86 - Jul 19, 2010 at 03:16
Lessons learned recently: 15M reversal patterns are no good for me. Check to see if today is a holiday somewhere, and if it is, don't trade. For other reversals, stop should be at the point that was reversed from, not just a recent high/low.
Hedge funds - all work no play? In General by forex_trader_7 - Jul 18, 2010 at 16:32

Dear trader from Backwardsganistan . " ... strictly for manage account...." would be "... they are strictly for a managed account..." . Standard SMAs In New Traders by winsor - Jul 16, 2010 at 17:43
When using SMA, note that there is a big difference between open and close price setting. Do you know how to set the open and close price setting in SMA? It is important to select a trading tool but it is more important to understand how the tool works instead of using it because everyone else is using it.
