I don't know who suggested this option but it's a bad thing. Using it scammers can scam and spam undisturbed.
People who cannot face criticism and react properly are people poor in soul and brain. Constructive criticism has always been in people's favour and now scammers can choose to live a worry-free life in MFB.

So you guys agree we let the scammers block criticism?

This is a complicated question. The 'block user' option has been around for ages. It's not a new addition. I remember a few dodgy guys, when I asked them about a real account, they kept PM spamming me with bollocks like 'come chat with me on skype, I'll give you the investor pass', and all that. I just put them on the blocked list and they can ... jog on. 😁

Now the 'block user' button has 2 functions and there's a big difference between

1. a personal block list - keeps those manlike apes from PMing you /which I think is a good idea/ and
2. the possibility of blocking someone completely from a thread /which I'm not sure is a good idea/

We noticed this change a few days ago, Ranesh here had an interesting idea /see june 13/

https://www.myfxbook.com/community/suggestion-box/ignore--block-some-users/113829,1

No worries, me too have been blocked from a few threads, I saw that red note which says I can't post coz the thread starter blocked me. That's life, you can get used to it 😉 I surf FX forums in read-only mode all the time... I'm just reading and laughing ...

I'll cast the Yes vote, coz I think (2) is not a good solution, but I sure hope the personal part of the block stays as it is! 😁

Speki,

This is the alternative I was talking about in my post over on the other thread where blocking was suggested :

https://www.myfxbook.com/community/experienced-traders/managed-account-loss-trading-done/138313,1

Simple isn't it ? Create a new thread like this user has done and post a link of the system concerned and make a well articulated post as to why it is a scam or whatever and people are sure to read it. A more civilized way of doing things, without trashing system threads that belong to other users.

So I'm still of the opinion that what has been implemented is a good feature.

-1 from me.

A rebuttal should be displayed on the thread where accusations were made and not on a newly created thread, where we can pick and choose who is allowed to comment. Otherwise discussions becomes biased.

When we block a user, we block their comments from displaying. Just like Forex Factory.

If we really want to see what they have said, we can view their profile.

..and this feature of ForexFactory is the 8th wonder of the world. No, it's the 9th, the 8th wonder is compound interest.

The problem here is that forexscam - pipinvestment 1 to 99, etc. has at least 10 users, so he/they will win this poll... lol... not so objective...

Very true. Number of votes don't mean anything anymore because those who have multiple accounts will just pile up the votes. And his usernames are not just pipinvestment1_to_some_number.... I have a list of other accounts he uses here. And I think you already mentioned one of them in one of your other posts which I saw.

Hmm, speaking of numbers ... some time ago I noticed that on average, there is 1 vote per 20-30 views on suggestions here on MyFXBook. If something raises the pulses of many, there will be more votes, if nobody's interested in that suggestion, then there will be less votes.

Now, here we have 10 votes for 100 views, so you could say people are interested in this suggestion ...
Of course I have no way of knowing whether the votes are genuine or Mickey Mouse.

ranesh just locked me out of his forum, conveniently not accepting CONSTUCTIVE CRITISISM about his services..
He accused me as a multiple identities user and connected me in his brain with user Will Scharrand posted here..
He then attacks my systems with amateurish arguments..
Sure, his move was a good opportunity to pinpoint the prospects of my systems..

I TOTALLY disagree about the BLOCK functionality on forums without a valid reason and initial warning from myfxbook based on violation of common ethics.

Block can remain for PM...

Yes.. I have blocked all those who use 'multiple identities' to post BS on my threads and threads that belong to others here.

Beware of this user. See why here :

You must learn and respect others especially older than you here.
You claim BOLD LIES without any proof whatsoever. Have you seen another identity to support me in the open so far?
Can you show me a post that I support a scammer system? How do you claim this while I have a system in forward test more time than you and it is not scam but has produced more than 4K pips in a year, the same amount as many successful bots and providers produce in the same time..(eg. top zulutrade and growthbot) .
My system currently at TOP 10 of signal provider with only months history...

Furthermore my system was without open DD yellow equity curve, it concludes in 4 Hours average, has 10% DD and can be traded x3 lots to gain a 120% performance with 30 - 35 DD..

I have the RIGHT to post CONSTRUCTIVE Criticism and ideas to any public forum in a friendly manner and without accusations based out of thin air. If I suspect something I can just ask and wait for adequate response first...

Cheers ..

While I agree that constructive criticism, sharing ideas, asking question etc.... is a great thing, I also have to mention that a 'Block User' feature is important. Otherwise, there is no possibility to get rid of spammers, haters and all other sort of muppets.

Alexander
