One thing I don't like this EA does very well with .10 lot size and for some reason it randomly puts up much larger lot sizes causing unnecessary drawdown. Is there a way to control lot size based on balance? If I have a $1000 balance and it opens a 200k lot size it's going to blow up my account. This EA would be awesome if you could control lot size and make a fixed lot size and max open orders
Bingo! You found the reason we are developing Banana. Please read some past posts to understand this project. You have only 2 days running the package and it's too early to make any conclusion. Load it with the safety settings and your account will be safe.

The Banana is running with the default safety settings on my account. I've read all of the post prior just wondering if the Banana in the future will be able to adjust lot size to make it fixed and also make it so it opens x amount of trades instead of unlimited amount of trades.

How come the developer abandoned the Blue Monkey when it has so much potential?

@maiamrn The banana system that is marked 'real deal', what are the settings it is using? Is this using the amortization?

Settings:
H1 chart - amortization OFF - Only good trends - Exposure ON - Close on reverse OFF
manual interventions

I´m going to post a totally automated real account without manual interventions.

=> FEBRUARY ANALYSIS <=

The Banana System is 100% UP in my real account and 130% UP in the demo one. This is the February performance when we release 2 versions of the system and many improvements was made starting from zero.
I know that you guys have accounts running the system and some of you made more that 200% REAL !!! Some of you don´t like to post in the forum but are sending me PM and I'm reading ALL the messages. I'd like to thank you for all information and new ideas.

For March remember to UPDATE your accounts to v1.2 because v1.1 will expire.
My 2 accounts in forum is already updated to 1.2 with the following settings:

DEMO: https://www.myfxbook.com/members/maiamrn/addon-banana--bluemonkeyea/1136199
Banana on a daily chart - IniLot 0.2 - Ignore trends - Close basket FALSE - Close at BE TRUE - exposure 20 - amortization OFF

REAL: https://www.myfxbook.com/members/maiamrn/banana-system-real-deal/1151968
Banana on H1 - IniLot 0.1 - Only on good trends - Close basket FALSE - Close at BE TRUE - exposure 20 - amortization OFF

(these 2 accounts may have some orders manually closed, I will share a totally automatic account soon)

I'm working(with your help) on v1.3 that will be launched in the middle of March. This April's version will have some bugs corrected and some stuff that you guys are asking for:
- an instillation manual or guide
- a possibility to avoid Banana of opening new order after the basket is closed
- a news filter to avoid trades
- a custom Comment field

Have a nice weekend and be prepared to collect more pips from the market on next month.
Enjoy!

One week with Banana Add-on v1.2, and my demo account balance was up 10+%. While it is not bad achievement by all standard, one interesting thing have caught my attention:

The 10% gain was attained at the end of the week after quite a bumpy ride on the account balance. For example, one day the profit might go up by 5%, the next day the system took small losses and the profit went back down to 2%. The next day it went up again and so on.. I think this is the expected behavior of v1.2 that incorporated amortization as well as 'Close at daily reversal' being turned on. We're expected to take few small losses to avoid getting hammered with one big loss as in previous release. In the end, it's not clear which version/strategy would end up on the top.

For next week, I have adjusted my settings to match closely with the suggested settings for real-deal account, where the 'Close at daily reversal' and amortization are both turned off. So I'm expecting the account balance will be smoother.

Thanks @maiamrn for giving us an opportunity to test this excellent EA.

thanks @hokie for these observations, it helps us to adjust the settings.

For the moment I keep the same settings as V1.1 in the V1.2 with 'avoid trades against the trend' because it takes more trade than 'only trades in good trend' and it doesn't wait to much to enter. Sometimes if we wait for the good trend, we enter a bit late.

I'm testing the new settings 'amortization' and 'close basket' in demo account to see how it works.
I think we need to adjust according to our trader profile. If we prefer to be safe we need to use them or if we frequently monitors we can increase the risk.

Good observations. The objective of the Amortization algorithm is to constantly reduce the exposure. The tests in my other accounts are performing exactly like yours.
I like to mention one important difference in the final result between 'close basket if reverse' and 'amortization'.
'Amortization' will never decrease your balance (in a weekly basis ) but slowly eats some profit to minimize risk.
'Close basket if reverse' lets your account to profit all day but can eat much of them if day trend changes.
So 'Amortization' is a less volatile protection than 'Close Reverse'.

The other protection - Exposure Limit - tells Banana to take care of the entire basket if BMEA rises the exposure too much. This protection will be more or less volatile depending the parameter Exposure_Limit (default 16-20):
 - less that 16 ( more interventions but less risky )
 - more than 16 (high risk but less interventions)

You guys are welcome to test many of the combinations but remember to keep yours eyes in the long run! Losses and flat times will happen and it´s absolutely normal.

What does Trend Force Limit mean? Is that the maximum allowed trades per currency pair?

Setting to add: we should set the level when the amortization begin, as for the break even.

What does Exposure Leverage Limit mean? I set it to 4 thinking with 0.10 initial lot size it will not open trades lot size past 0.4 but now it's opening larger lots. How in the world do I get this thing to stop opening large lot sizes? I want to open max lot size of 0.40 max and nothing larger or it will blow up my account, how do I do this?

@Marketorder The blue monkey EA manage positions that have been opened first by the banana add-on.

There's no limit for it to continue to open positions if you're against a big trend. The logic of this EA is to open a position all the 5 pips at the lot you set for 10 000.
Why is it opening larger lot ? simplely to catch up the delay of the positions that have not been opened. Calculate the difference of pips between two positions and you'll find the lot.
Why does it open a position so later and not a perfect grid of 5 pips ? because in my opinion there's an entry delay to avoid spikes and slippage during news.

For not blowing your account you must have a good money management and not enter with large lots with a little account.
How can you calculate that ? by beginning with the littlest lot with one pair and adjusting week after week.

How exactly do you make adjustments. Also what exactly does Exposure Leverage Limit and Trend Force Limit mean?

If I deposit $1000 will the EA automatically adjust lot size according to deposit amount?
