My trading is a combination of a new robot I designed and me intervening with the robot's trades. No manual trades. All I do is watch the open trades and if it looks like a good time to close, then I close. The robot places all trades (for now anyway) and uses trailing stop and take-profit to manage the trade but sometimes I will close a trade early if it looks like the price is reversing.

It's not likely I'll end up winning the competition unless all the super-high-leverage scalpers take a big loss and let me pass them. And even then I need to beat all the steady growth traders. So my personal goal is to end in the top 50. Of course winning the prize money would be nice. :-)

FYI, I'm also entered in another contest. Surefire Trading Challenge. Much stricter rules than this one. Starting balance is $1000 and maximum size of all open trades combined is 0.5 lots. It would be interesting to see how the high-leverage scalpers would do in that contest.

I entered but when I saw you need to be in top 20 to take place in the final demo round i withdraw, to much time to lose, 1 month now and after one month more, besides i'm not scalper i position trade, i hold from 30 min to couple of days some times few weeks.
The limitation's are indicator that we need to change and grow, always break the boundaries to be free.

Here are some interesting numbers. These numbers are approximate. Of all the contestants in the competition, there are...

145 above opening balance
831 at opening balance (no trades)
385 below opening balance

Only 530 people trading out of 1361? I wonder what the 831 non-traders are waiting for?

Same happened to me. I completely forgot about the contest until I got an email saying something like 'it's been 2 days and we haven't seen any trades' and I didn't get that email until the 3rd day 😞

Man I am getting my butt kicked by GBPUSD. It hit major support around 1.6000 and has been bouncing off that level, confusing my robot and costing me bigtime. I think it's time to turn off the robot and trade manual to try to get caught up. 😞

WOOHOO! I am currently in the #8 position. Feeling good! By the way, I wrote a book that talks about my trading. It doesn't specifically teach my current strategy that I am using in the contest, but it is still well worth reading.

==> https://amelabs.com/forex-millionaire-maker/

Available in Print, Amazon Kindle and Barnes and Noble Nook formats.

My next book will teach the strategy I am using for this contest. As you can probably tell I am not a scalper and I have not been placing 1000 lot trades from the very beginning. In fact, I think the biggest trade I have placed so far is just over 200 lots. I tend to keep trades open about a day or more but sometimes close sooner with a loss if the trade goes immediately against me.

It looks like this is now a race for 3rd place. The top 2 are far ahead and if they're smart they will not place any more trades. Both are too far ahead for anyone to try to catch up to without putting their account at great risk. So in my opinion, the safe thing to do is to just try and pass the 3rd place guy.

At this point in the game I'm terrified to place any more trades. I wish the same were true for my robot, which lost me $140000 while I slept. Still, I need to do what I can to end in 3rd or better. So now it's a battle against anxiety, a last push for the prize, and worst case to stay in the top 10. Wish me luck! :-)
