The thing is this kind of news in the past has been quite profitable for REV. That is why I left it on. The problem is, it just kept going further than it should have. Either way, to be safe it's always best to turn off during news for those who are conservative.

I agree for playing safe, vice versa, we already turn GBP off now, if turn off RTP during news time, then I just afraid RTP would just sit dust by the trading freq of RTP right now. Any advise?

Even though we listen to your advise to turn off EA, but they are talking global wide here, some people are living in other side of the world, once they wake up in the morning, they saw your email and found too late already. Such as the message from VTP forum

Too late, Sell GBP USD WAS ALREDAY OPENED... Probably you didnt get the signal'

Sorry for all the questions, because I bought RTP at Christmas, and still in debit zone badly, I didn't ask for refund within for 60 days and wish RTP will work great again. And I believe you guys are smart and will come up a solution quickly.

Its on their own site.
Will this message get 'moderated'?...

That sentence is actually part of the Clickbetter disclaimer that they require all EA vendors to put on their sales page if they want their EA product to get approved by Clickbetter, and sold through the Clickbetter payment system. They are also required to put the Clickbetter refund policy page on their website.

So, even if a EA is profitable for most users...they still have to put that disclaimer on their website no matter what.

In fact if there was such a thing as a holy grail EA that never lost on a real money account, and the EA is being sold through Clickbetter, the owner of that EA will still be required to put that disclaimer on their website saying the EA is not profitable for most people who purchase it.

Hey traders, I just want to say that I'm one of the victim for yesterday FOMC economics projection event by using RTP. Even though I got a huge losses yesterday night but I still believe that RTP is a good strategy to trade in the Forex markets.

I would like to share what I've found from the forum about the optimized set files for RTP. As for now I think this can work well. In my point of view, we are all retail trader which really hope to find some extra money from the markets to ease our burden of living. The market is too big to trade and hope that everyone here can help each other to achieve a goal (financial freedom) which I wish to achieve. Hmm... hope this helps.

This I can share my agreement with you that at least vendor is tough and has quite firm faith in his trading strategy. This is a very important part of trader character!

Cheers!

I am also sailing in the same as of you, bought it near xmas and never been profitable despite several assurances and fixes provided by vendor. This forces me to think about that I have been scammed prudently and do not know where to look for.I see responses from other buyers and they are not profitable either.I have found that sufficient instructions ,timely announcements are missing on vendor's part. It is a complete waste of money.

Economic calendars are readily available, there's one on this site's home page, one at Daily Motion. When you see high impact announcements are imminent shut down the EA. You don't need Doug to tell you that. FOMC and NFP are excellent examples of totally unpredictable events.

If you still want to trade during these events manually open a trailing stop on the instrument that you think will be most affected, you may lose a little, you may gain a lot. If your broker allows it open one long with TS and one short with TS. If they don't allow it open one long with TS and another short with TS on a positively correlated pair, for instance long the EUR/USD and short the AUS/USD.

Sometimes the price will suddenly jerk in both directions, which will result in loss(es), but usually it pretty much flies straight up or down.

I've been considering applying this strategy to the daily openings in London, NY, Tokyo and Sydney. Haven't done it yet.

May you make 100 pips!

It already recovered a chunk of what it lost yesterday, but how is it a scam because it had a bad day from a big news event? If you don't have anything meaningful to comment here, just leave.

I believe RTP is a one of the great EAs on the market, but just happen that keep on not making money and low number of trades in the recent months, and we both just on the bad luck that we started RTP at the bad moment. As a new guy in forex, all the money losing here is my hard earning money. I still have faith the RTP guys will make the thing straight very soon.

I also bought my RTP after Christmas, but I am not sure why, those of you who claim you are in the hole, I am up...not as much as I would like to be, but up none the less. You have to manage your risk and reward just like any other product. Everyone has the same opportunities to read when major news events are going to happen and that news is print weeks and months ahead of time. You have to be more engaged in this game than to just let it rip. Step and be accountable to yourself first and then your EA.
