Hey guys. Rough first week with channel trader and vortex trader pro. Maybe my timing was bad but I'm confident in the strategy and I know they will make it up in spectacular fashion. The only thing that concerns me is that my trades were not exactly the same as the vendors. They were close. What could be the reason for this? I am using fx choice true ecn live account. Is there a delay or latency and that's why we don't get the exact same buy or sell price. Also I don't understand why the vendor and I are both trading 3 lots but today the vendor has a win of 72.46$ (2.9) pips and a loss of -44.54$ (1 pip) and I have a Loss of -111.00 and a loss of -45.00 for the same two trades. Why the discrepancy? Also paying -41.48 commission for every trade at 3 lots. Not sure fx choice was the best choice. Any advice?

Hello @Dionysus231!

Slippage is the difference between the requested order price via a limit order and the executed order price.

I purchased VTP not long ago and am still testing the EA copier on a demo account. So far I'm experiencing order delays compared to master of 2-4 seconds, on each end, which so far has been resulting in a 2-4 pip difference - not insignificant when you consider the average VTP win is around 11 pips. In the long run this would mean a roughly 30% worse financial result than the master account.

I’ve got a superfast computer and great internet connection, broker FXCM USA. May go to a VPS at some point, but am not sure this will make a big difference. I will share further information when it becomes available.

I recommend a VPS. I pay 25gbp a month for mine at Beeks FX. I'm getting 0-2 pips slippage

It pays for itself

New to forex yes. What is babypips? Its my First week that's why I wanted to use robots while I learn. So there is no way that we know of to reduce the slippage? I'm using the standard VPS that fxchoice offers. 30% is kind of a big discrepancy in my book.

Babypips (google the website) is the best way of learning to trade, if you are new to forex i would forget about EAs for the time being and go to babypips and learn how to trade manually. Then come back to EAs

Slippage, spread differences and commissions differ from broker to broker. Nobody said you had to use FXChoice. I dont and neither do many others.

I do actually get positive slippage sometimes too :-)

Yea I figured slippage must also work in your favor sometimes. There wasn't much of a choice of recommended brokers from the vendor that take American traders. I'm so far happy with fx choice as far as customer service. But the commissions did eat about 50% of the profit that I made this week. Trading 3 lots. 41$ use commissions. . Can anyone recommend a broker that accepts American traders with lower commission and slippage?

Maybe too much volatility on the Eur/USD. Some nice swings, but unpredictable.
I've managed 7% this month so far with a few short manual trades.
Looking for opportunities with caution.

Trading conditions aren't right for VTP... it's waiting for the right trades.

only use ea maybe has some differents orders compared with vendor's myfxbook.
or sometime you had orders but vendor's not.
or sometime the same orders, you hit loss, but vendor win, etc.

use copy trader can match orders 100%,and vendor's will turn off EA before big news or Manual intervention
