Actually I appreciate Jarratt's opinion about EA a bit in more depth. I know he doesn't like them, but I would like to find out more specific experience. Are they *all* bad? Are the some strategies that work better than others?

gfurman, this is a joke, correct? 'The pound trade was just before the Scottish referendum (a few week before I believe, where the pound was at a good price to buy) however, because he never traded in a period like this before (pre referendum) he didn't know / expect some a sell off on the pound...'
In fact I even received a warning from my broker that the Scottish referendum may jeopardize my trades....

Hm, that is actually odd - why stuff is deleted?
About my own experience I can actually back gfurman. The best improvement in performance had using the free Ichimoku Expert Adviser. I don´t know why it works that well, but perf there is even better than on some sophisticated (and expensive) EA´s...
