Household final consumption spending is the distinction between what individuals spend on goods and services and what private non-profit institutions spend on domestic goods and services. This category comprises personal expenditure on motor vehicles and other durable items, imputed rent on owner-occupied dwellings; the value of 'backyard' production (including food produced and consumed on farms); and in-kind wages and salaries.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the AUD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the AUD.
