Euro Area Consumer Confidence
The Consumer Economic Sentiment Indicator gauges the level of confidence that consumers have in the economy in the Eurozone. About 23 000 households throughout the Eurozone are surveyed via telephone in this analysis. Each zone has a different number of households to sample. The inquiries concentrate on the current economic and financial condition, savings plans, and anticipated changes in consumer price indices, the general economic situation, and large purchases of durable goods. On a scale of -100 to 100, the Consumer ESI assesses consumer trust, with -100 indicating great lack of confidence, 0 indicating neutrality, and 100 indicating extreme optimism.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.

France's consumer price inflation softened in August on weaker growth in transport costs and the economy logged a faster growth as estimated in the second quarter, official data revealed Friday. Eurozone Economic Confidence Weakens In August
Eurozone economic sentiment softened unexpectedly in August as only industry and retail trade showed improvements, survey results from the European Commission showed Thursday. The economic sentiment indicator slid to 95.2 in August from a revised 95.7 in the previous month. The score was forecast rise to 96.0.
