The most important sectors in the country include synthetic fibers, agricultural machinery, fertilizers, radios, electronics, medicines, processed foods, textiles, and timber. Among the expenditure components of GDP, household consumption dominates, accounting for 61% of total usage. Gross fixed capital formation (23%) and government expenditure (18%) are the next most important components. Exports of goods and services account for 59% of total GDP, while imports account for 62%, resulting in a 3% reduction in total GDP as a result of the trade imbalance. Latvia became a member of the Eurozone in 2014.
