Nonfood Goods (19.7% of total weight) are the most significant category in Mexico's CPI basket, followed by Housing (18.7%) and Other Services (18.4%). 14.8% of the total is composed of food, beverages, and tobacco, while 9.5% is composed of energy. Additionally, government-subsidized products (5.3%), education (5.1%), meat and eggs (4.8%), and fruits and vegetables (3.7%). As of December 2010, the CPI index has a 100-point basis. The index covers 46 large, medium, and small national cities.
