New Zealand Balance of Trade
For its economic well-being, New Zealand is heavily reliant on international trade. New Zealand's economy has always been built on the premise of exports from its highly efficient agriculture sector, which includes dairy goods, beef, forest products, fruit, and beverages, among other things. Vehicles, machinery, and equipment, as well as petroleum, electronics, plastics, and airplanes, are the most common imports into New Zealand. China, Australia, the United States, Japan, and South Korea are the country's primary trading partners.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the NZD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the NZD.
