New Zealand Exports
The economy of New Zealand is highly reliant on international trade. Historically, it has relied on exports from its highly efficient agriculture economy. Country exports primarily dairy products, birds' eggs, natural honey, and edible products of animal origin accounting for 24% of total exports, followed by meat and edible offal (14%), wood and articles made of wood (7%), fruit and nuts, peel of citrus fruits or melons (5%), and beverages, spirits, and vinegar (4%). China (18% of total exports), Australia (17%), the United States (12%), Japan (6%), the United Kingdom, and South Korea (3% each) are the primary export partners.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the NZD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the NZD.
