New Zealand Exports
The economy of New Zealand is highly reliant on international trade. Historically, it has relied on exports from its highly efficient agriculture economy. Country exports primarily dairy products, birds' eggs, natural honey, and edible products of animal origin accounting for 24% of total exports, followed by meat and edible offal (14%), wood and articles made of wood (7%), fruit and nuts, peel of citrus fruits or melons (5%), and beverages, spirits, and vinegar (4%). China (18% of total exports), Australia (17%), the United States (12%), Japan (6%), the United Kingdom, and South Korea (3% each) are the primary export partners.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the NZD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the NZD.

New Zealand Inflation Rises To 2.5%
New Zealand inflation accelerated for the first time in nearly three years in the first quarter but it remained well within the central bank target, official data showed on Thursday. Consumer price inflation rose to 2.5 percent in the first quarter from 2.2 percent in the preceding period, Sats NZ reported.

Reserve Bank Of New Zealand Cuts Rate By 25 Bps, Signals Further Easing
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand reduced its benchmark rate by a quarter-point, as expected on Wednesday, and hinted at further easing as recent increases in trade tariffs pose downside risks to economic outlook. The Monetary Policy Committee, led by acting governor Christian Hawkesby, decided to cut the Official Cash Rate by 25 basis points to 3.50 percent, which was the lowest since October 2022.
