Norway DNB Manufacturing PMI
The NIMA Manufacturing Purchasing Manager's Index monitors the performance of the manufacturing sector in Norway and is based on a survey of 300 companies. It is composed of five individual indexes with the following weights: new orders (30%), output (25%), employment (20%), Suppliers delivery times (15%), and stock of items purchased (10%), the Delivery Times index is reversed so that it moves in a similar direction to the other four indexes. A value above 50 indicates that the manufacturing sector has expanded in comparison to the previous month; a rating below 50 indicates that the manufacturing sector has contracted, whereas a reading of 50 shows no change.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the NOK while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the NOK.
