The engineering, chemical, electrotechnical engineering, wood-processing, and food sectors are the most important industries in Slovakia. Among the expenditure components of GDP, household consumption is first, accounting for 57% of total usage, followed by gross fixed capital formation (21%) and government expenditure (19%). Exports of goods and services account for 92% of GDP, while imports account for 88% of GDP, contributing 4% to total GDP.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.
