The estimated yield may be a reflection of the condition of the UK's government debt, and as a result, a rise or reduction in the yield might signal the onset of economic growth or recession.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the GBP while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the GBP.

UK House Prices Remain Flat In June: Halifax
