Australia Capex Data Due On Thursday

(RTTNews) - Australia will on Thursday release Q4 numbers for private new capital expenditure, highlighting a light day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.
Capex is expected to add 0.6 percent on quarter, moderating from 1.1 percent in the three months prior.
New Zealand will see February results for the business confidence index from ANZ and the own activity index from NBNZ. In January, the business confidence index had a score of 54.4, while the activity index was at 48.8 percent.

Rebound Tipped For South Korea Stock Market
The South Korea stock market on Tuesday ended the three-day winning streak in which it had improved almost 80 points or 2.6 percent. The KOSPI now sits just shy of the 3,180-point plateau although it may reverse those losses on Wednesday.
The global forecast for the Asian markets is cautiously optimistic, with tech shares likely to rise ahead of key earnings news later in the day. The European markets were down and the U.S. bourses were up and the Asian markets figures to follow the latter lead.

Reflecting a continued plunge by orders for transportation equipment, the Commerce Department released a report on Tuesday showing a steep drop by new orders for U.S. manufactured durable goods in the month of July. The Commerce Department said durable goods orders slumped by 2.8 percent in July after plummeting by a revised 9.4 percent in June.
