@forexpipcatcher may be you should use a better language to show that you are a professional. Agreed with your argument of old backtesting as new backtesting from 2011 to 2013 is under progress. We are not here to respond the slang language that you have used

Backtest is just for amateurs. Since the data is just an avarge it has no meaning in real...

I do not agree with you because the backtest is passed on forex data, we use Forex Tester for 4 years and given reliable because each new backtest since this year we did. All trades that have been spent on live are reproduced backtest which proves the reliability of our expert

@HIROO59 plus after backtesting one shall test the EA on demo too for some time. we do it for atleast 1 month and then take the EA to our inventory.

Demo doesn't have slippage...demo doesn't have spreads nor manipulations....demo does not have software installed on the server to manipulate and restrict trading...demo does not allow for rapid movement of prices which will effect you entering and exiting trades!
Demo is useful to see if you're heading in the right direction, however, it does not guarantee success and by no means is it reliable to a high degree.

All data are from 2000 and forex either tick or bar a minute, spread included, possibility of adjusting the lever, as the margin on your brocker. to test with your own strategy

Go take a look
You forgot slippage nothing can allow for that plus spread because the broker controls it. I have shots that show spreads from a broker that show these are different from live to backtesting. These are hidden from the normal data, but send me a link to see what you are talking about. I am interested in anything I haven't looked into.

@forexpipcatcher agree with you on the limitations of demo and backtesting. BUT we have incorporated those limitation into our EAs so that they dont backfire us. Like for examples we have a variable of MAX SLIPPAGE, another one is MAX SPREAD and last but not the least is that we are making log of broker related issues in a database and have compared three of the brokers that we use.

Drive alpha, the EA you have running in your account is a martingale, and so is that backtest you showed earlier. Are martingales the only EAs you have been able to develop? This is not a "safe" return. Martingales will eventually blow up.

That is beautiful... suppose you based your performance on the first 20 trades what would you get?
It's nice to show winning history and hide losing streaks isn't it?
