FX Cure EA (TEA Free)

I have never been able to make any backtesting work. Always get errors with any EA
and maximum 25% accuracy, So, not interested. Wasted too many days on that.

Ok. One thing that would be nice to add on the Risk setting is a way to scale down, you already have a way to scale up, a quick way to allow scale down is to change the input type of Risk from int to double, or use a different equation for lot determination.

From looking at the following log, I'd say there is a bug in the EA, unless this is by design. To me it looks like the EA is setting the take profit on trades for different symbols. A simple way to fix this is to have the EA filter trades it works with by Symbol and MagicNumber, such that it is not modifying trades placed by different EAs or the same EA on a different chart, or manual trades.

I started with $50K on IamFX with multiplier_filter set to 1. After a couple weeks I increased
the Risk from 1 to 2. So, all 1X orders are blocked. All 3X orders are approx. 0.30 lots now.

DD is way too high. Think about scalping systems with less DD!

Hey Patrick and Vontogr, I realize my MT4 was corrupted by old data. So, today I started a new MT4
with the new v0.92 EA on all 28 Major/Minor pairs. $50K, 400:1, iRisk 2, mult_filter 1. Here's the link:

    I re-used the old installation but I highly recommend a new MT4 install. If you re-use instead,
it's important to do a lot of housecleaning before launching...
    That means removing any logs and previous EAs and Objects from all charts. Even with that there can still
be old junk lying around. Before adding in the new EA, select a chart and hit the F3 key ('show Global Variables')
There should be only a couple in there like 'HighTime' and 'HighEquity'. If there's more in there, do Ctrl+A
(select all) and delete.
    Close the MT4. Now go to the C:\Program Files (x86)\'your own MT4 folder'\profiles\default
folder and you'll see a.chr file for each chart on your MT4 terminal. Delete all remaining 'objects' here too-
for EACH one. (28 files in my case) That means everything between and including the <object>...</object> tags.
NOW you can open your totally clean MT4 platform, and add the EA to each chart.
    Now you know why installing a clean, new MT4 is easier!

No, I'm not blaming MT4. The EA stores a lot of data (ie, all the 1X orders not taken),
and if there's any change to the parameters after it's in play, you just corrupted the
internal data stream (according to the programmer). That's his explanation for the
singleton negative trades (which Tom's EA never did - there were always positive higher
level trades in the same basket accompanying any negative trades)

Hi Drew,

I set up a new Demo Account with multiplier set at 0 and a $5,000 balance. With the JPY pairs the EA is constantly changing the TP. Everything else seems to be working as expected. Also the EA has not closed any trades yet for a loss so that is an improvement but it has only been 24 hours or so. I will keep you posted.

I'm a programmer and I don't understand what old data could be corrupting the strategy. If the programmer is storing things in a file or in global variables, then yes those need to be cleared.

On the negative TP, I'm sure that problem is because the script is updating TP for trades it should not be ie setting the TP to the TP of trades of different symbols. I've watched it do it, and I've seen it in the logs.

I'm pressed with the EA thus far, but it does need some clean up. If the programmer does not want to do that, I'll update the code fix the TP problem. It is simple of filtering trades by Symbol and hopefully magic number before modifying trades. I'm guessing though once a trade is place the TP should not be modifiied, or atleast till another trade is opened in the same symbol and direction.

Demo's are useless. Why even bother?

I don't agree that demo's are worthless. You do have to keep in mind that execution in demos are faster than real because most if not all the time demo are auto accepted where real have to be sent to the bank which causes additional latency which can cause slippage. The are a tool to get an idea if something will work. If it does not work in a demo, don't go live with it. But if it does work in a demo go live with a small account and build it up as time goes on for multiple reasons.

I have been running my demos for a while, they have more negative loss than the profit it has closed. I'm hoping that will change in time as the new levels are closed. I have seen that the TP for all the trades for the same symbol are the same, thus my future confusing of why the EA is changing the TP for trades all the time. Any update on fixing that bug?

Hello Everyone,

I am seeing something strange. I set up 3 demo accounts at $5,000 each this past Sunday at the market opening and am running the new version (0.92) at multiplier_filter of 1, 2 and 3. The accounts set to 1 and 3 have not opened any trades since Sunday. The account at the 2 setting has opened about 20 1x trades and closed 3 trades for profit. Currently the account is positive. Also it is constantly changing the TP of the open trades.
