I started trading with MT5 on fxview but later switched to MT4 with the same broker because most of the EAs that I was purchasing were compatible with MT4. Next account that I opened with IC Markets, I opted for MT4 in the first place :) Honestly I didn’t see any difference as such in the 2, but maybe I need to be on level 3 or 4 to be able to spot any minor intricacies.

If you want to start forex trading, you have to learn all the basics of the forex fist. Without the proper knowledge, you can not survive in this risky market.

MT4 is easy to use
It is free
And there is ton of programs and indicators and lot of them free
It is very bad with backtesting though.
So except proper backtesting there is no need for MT5

Both the platforms are good but I am more comfortable using MT4 as their app is also very convenient to use. I place my orders most of the time from my smartphone. It is very easy to manage my two different accounts on Turnkeyforex and LMFX at one place.

I prefer trading with the MT4 since it is suitable for trading currency pairs, and when compared to other platforms, the MT4 is simple to understand and user friendly.

I am also using the MT4 trading platform and use the STP account, still comfortable in use, although now broker offer to use MT5, I am not yet intention to use MT5, but maybe when I already use ECN account will trying to use MT5 trading platform.

I've always preferred MT4 and never felt any pressure to switch. Always had a good experience with MT4 brokers as well so I'm not interested in MT5 or other platforms at the moment.

Old payer with mt4 but current time and volatility soon make me move to mt5. It is a bit complex but interface is almost a similar.

No brainer...MT4. The user interface is so much intuitive and less confusing than MT5. No wonder most brokers still support it.

I personally loke MT4, as I find it very easy to use and comfortable. Every trader may have his own preference. Some may like MT5 or cTrader. That's okay.

I have always had a good experience with mt4 brokers so I would rate mt4 over mt5 any day.

I guess you are trading with mt5; nice to see! Yes, mt5 is the updated version but till now, a number of traders are make dealing with the mt4

I think MT4 is more accessible and user-friendly than MT5. It is the best trading platform for beginners so far.

My experience with mt4 is that it is more accessible and easy to use, with much more comfortable tools than Mt5. Although I am thinking of trying my hands on it too.
