Slower moving EAs (like mine) or slower manual trading, work on both demos and live accounts. Either fast or slower methods may make the user money, but they do it in different ways. Who is to say one is better than the other.
That being said, since this contest is run on demo accounts, those that can benifit will. It would be interesting to see a contest for live accounts. Maybe that is something the good folks here at myFXBook can organize. But for now, this is what we have.

Depends whether you are using an ECN, futures or bucket shop. Live will reflect Demo on an ECN.

hmmm as far as i can see the past trading performance in the account is tracked too for calculation of %gain. :)

No, past performance doesn't count. We've tried to reset all of the accounts for the contest, but some were missed. Both of your accounts were just reset.
What will matter at the end is the account balance, after all positions are liquidated.

Is it still possible to reset my account as well to before the rebalancing by FXDD. It is a bit confusing in tracking my performance to have the past results there. If so thanks.

Hi .. I can say only 5 competitors on All Competitors list. Are these the people who are left and other most i saw in the morning with more than 100% gain in 3 hours margin called or what? lol

I enrolled in the contest. Then I received an email telling me to login to another account. I was never able to get that account to authenticate. So, what should I do now?
Backtesting is the key to success in any type of investment. If you can't prove it don't trade it.

I am in the exact same situation. I assume that this is startup quirks and they will get it straightened out by the weekend. They really should restart things to be fair.

I completely agree. There are issues limiting people from placing trades. Keep it fair by fixing the accounts and restarting the contest.

Agree. Nothing but confusion and trouble. Home page showing server overload last 12 hours. My account won't activate. Solve problems then set a new start date. Be clear about the situation and make sure the tech issues are resolved. I LOVE MyFXBook but the contest has been badly managed. Start over!

Yesterday I saw a huge list of competitors. But I can see only a few on the list which doesn't not include myself. Does anyone know what's going on? I was hoping to see I'm somewhere near the top.

We're performing some maintenance work in the background due to the increased load on our servers, so some of the data might come and go - you can keep trading your contest account normally, it will not be affected.

My FXDD demo for the contest states that I have a $2000 deposit which throws off my percentage gain by 50%.
STAFF- can this be reset, fixed, or modified to show the $1000 balance. Thank you.

I know you guys are scrambling. It's a nice thing (but stressful) to be overwhelmed by success. I know you fellows will do the right thing. Good Luck. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SECOND CONTEST !!!
