Hello there,

it would be great to have a standardized import file format with a history of trades and possibility to upload it into myfxbook.

As you know, most of the brokers cut their history in MT4 platforms, rest of it you can find on their web portal or by sending a special request letter.

use case:
I would like to upload to myfxbook.com trading history of last X years. I have all the records, but as far as i understand myfxbook EA uploads only records from MT4 Account history page, so, it would be great somehow to load more records than just in MT4 history tab page.

PS. If this option already exists, please show me where can I find it.

It is possible to do that. You can import history statement as strategy.

Oh, didn't know that. I will try it out right away.

Thanks insidefx!

I tried to upload history DetaledStatement html file as a strategy but it failed. I tried two times and both tries failed. I wonder it works correctly.

It doesn't, brother, the Strategy tester output differs from the Statement / Detailed statement files.

Yes, you can upload a Statement file with FTP to MyFXBook. Note I'm not talking about uploading a Strategy with the Add strategy option. It's FTP, and it's a Statement file.

So, if you can convert your other trades history to something that looks like a MT4 statement, you can upload it and see in MyFXBook (as a unverified curve of course)

We did it for Oanda - convert the saved Transaction History of a non-Metatrader Oanda account to a MT statement, but it's messy, involves some manual work and Oanda changed the format so we've given up. Simply not worth the effort.

But in theory, it works, you just have to find someone with good number crunching skills.

Guys, thanks for your quick responses!

2insidefx:
Yes, I also tried to play a bit with the strategy file format. File formats are different, but I patched the strategy tester file by adding some records from the history and recalculating Balance column - it's failed. Decided not to bother with that. Was worth to try anyway, thanks!

2speki:
ok, sounds not very difficult, I just need to find that FTP account details. I remember it was explained somewhere. Now, when you use your latest Account upload wizard, you don't need all this :) Thanks for the suggestion, I will try it.

It worked.
Even the fact that 2 history files were from 2 different MT4 accounts was not a problem, as long as tickets are unique everything is fine.

I just simply added new myfxbook account, received ftp login name, connected directly to ftp server and put merged from 2 accounts 'statement.htm' to the root directory, after few minutes I've got data in myfxbook.

Sure, by default data is a bit inconsistent, for example, the transfer from one account to another counted as a withdrawal, but money actually still 'in a same' account/pool. But it's clear, no one knows this apart me :) A report file has to be modified by having one account name for all records and some records with transfer have to be removed, but this is another story.....

Thanks for your support guys!

Thanks speki :)

What you reckon, would it be nice to have this 'one time load&analyse' option in myfxbook?

You see, in this case, I haven't used neither MT4 publisher nor myfxbook connection to MT4 with an investor password. It's kind of 'offline analysis'. It's very simple and quick! By the way, I believe, when publisher turns on, the data will be only upserted (update+insert), no removal of previous records, which are not in a history, happens, right? :)

So, 2 ideas are here:
first is to do kind of Account grouping, so 2 different MT4 accounts could be grouped. It would be useful for one, who wants to see total/grouped statistics for pips, spendings, profits and so on. Eventually, accounts get deposited from one pocket :)

can be done, for example, in the following way:
upload 'statement.htm' from one account, upload 'statement.htm' from 2nd, 3rd and so on accounts, press Finish button and Voila - you can analyse your data. No publisher, no any connection is needed.

second idea, is to have a possibility to upload via web interface 'statement.htm' file (because, like in my case, when I had to gather history not only from different accounts, but also from other sources) and to do Offline analysis over it. Just like this, without any grouping.

Good idea, done that a million times, just with FTP, and not a web upload. It would be a tad simpler with a web interface.

Just want to make myself clear.
It's seems, that below i'm talking about a simple portfolio mechanism, but i'm not. Current portfolio mechanism only shows systems in one chart, but all other statistics still are separated. At the same time, i meant, to have common statistics for all accounts.
