Yes, the account(s) I've had using martingale, averaging, etc., have all been blown to bits. So currently, I don't have any of those accounts to compare since they're in FOREX heaven, or hell.As for my current methods, see my demos.Before you say 'but it's only a demo,' analyze some of the statistics and if you know what key things to look for, you'll see that these demo performances don't benefit from a demo environment. I understand that they're equivalent in terms of margin requirement but which would (you) rather do, 1 trade or 10 trades? For me, opening more than 1 (unless it's another opposite direction trade to hedge), implies that the strategy isn't looking to make the 'best' entry and therefore, not a strategy I want to keep polishing to make better.

Any strategy that makes more than one entry is risky for me (unless it's a second one to hedge, etc.)Stay away from martingale, averaging, etc. They will blow your account if you use them long enough. It could be days, weeks, or months before it does but, it does and will blow your account.I hope this helps.

My definition of Holy Grail is (consistent) profits -- doesn't matter how much the profit as long as, it's profit and it's consistent. This can only be attained by polishing your methods so that you have a sensible win rate and risk to reward ratio. I personally would rather work on polishing a low win rate, with at least a 1:2 risk to reward.

xgavinc, I liked your signature since it's funny but I did want to point out, you do realize it implies you 'should' only break even? Is that what you meant by it? Realistically though, in the event that 'For every loss there should be at least an equal and opposite profit,' then if one considers commission too then that wouldn't be good 😄

Ben, I would like to dispel the myth that (all) demo accounts are invalid.I acknowledge that some of EAs perform great on demo while failing in a live environment but this isn't the case with my current demos. I know this because I am running a live account along with one of the demos and I can't tell any difference between the demo and live on my end. I also would know this if I were evaluating other demo performances because of various other reasons.There are several things to look for in order to be able to evaluate a performance and I believe anyone who understands what to look for...

I'm sure there are many others but my systems come as close to the Holy Grail as I've ever seen. By 'Holy Grail' I mean a system that has a proper risk to reward ratio and win rate.
