I took a look at your profile and I expected better results from someone who types as much as you do. Have a look here, since we are talking about risk.http://www.myfxbook.com/files/GJscalper/really.pngWe can see you closed the trade, circled in black, for over 25 pip profit! Pretty good considering that on avg you aim for 3 pips profit, but the alarming thing is the "drawdown in pips" How is it that the trade hit your tp of 27.5 pips, but you were in red as much as 127.8 pips (highlighted with the red circle)? By simply discrediting what I have posted above because "No one trades their system 100% of the times" isn't a valid rebuttal only because all of this is in theory. Many people have EA's or self-discipline to follow all of their trades to a Tee, and even if they weren't it doesn't mean, nor can you even calculate that the "trade placed against the rules" would hit or not hit your tp before stop loss. If you think that this form of trading is aggressive, then clearly you have no idea how small .1 and .4% is of an account.

The first question would be , "what is your definition of risk". Only because "risk" can not be calculated at all in forex. People use terms like "that is a risky trade" but risk is defined by you simply taking an action with the hopes of reaching the desired outcome.

People who DON'T use martingale, typically aren't able to control their DD, so why should you expect martingale to be any different? The only way to use martingale effectively is to have a "trading system" which doesn't have a high consecutive loss count. If you know that your system won't have more than, say for an example, 5 losses before your TP is hit, you simply scale your martingale money management into the trade. So say the max you are willing to lose on those 4 trades is 10% of your account. You can simply divide the 10% loss in the following manner.Loss 1 ...

First of all. Martingale isn't a "strategY". Well, it is, but it is only a money management strategy. iA person who uses martingale, as myself, only doubles or triples after a loss, depending on the formation he or she is trading. Formations with low expectancy of consecutive losses are the ones which you want to use martingale with, because after every loss you chances of getting your tp hit is increased greatly. So instead of telling people to not martingale, why not ask first which system they are using WITH martingale.

The best pair for me would be GJ because of the daily range. You just have to enter when it is flat and catch those 10-15 pips run outside the accumulation, then from there it breakout mega or reverses back in side.

His results are real, but he is using a grid system, in which he hides the real drawdown because he doesn't force an update while he is in a position. By simply looking at his closed trades, and the little graph towards the extreme right of the order, you can see he is real drawdown. Ladies and gents, he is trading a grid system and his drawdown has actually been as high as 63% (more or less). Look for the block of 6 hours in which he closed for profits under 5 pips but his drawdown was way higher then that. There you will find the answer.

The market trades in loops and your system tells you when to buy, sell or stay out, while money management has to do with how much you buy or sell for. I will keep this account's drawdown under 15% 100% of the times.
