I totally agree with this statement. Demo trading is only good for introduction but not for the educational purposes. You can test your ideas on demo account as well in order to sort out which ideas you can try to implement on real account and which are the piece of trash. Demo is not suitable for learning just because of the fact that there is no psychological aspect there which plays crucial role in real trading. That is a nice overview what trading is all about. A newbie should also understand that markets are different. I mean that stock markets are different from the forex market and commodity market. So, you'd better concentrate on a single market and learn it.

I wouldn't say that making money is a kind of a habit, but it changes the mindset. I mean that once you learn how to make it, then it will be much easier and comprehensible for you to monetize other ideas which come to your mind.
