I just reduced the trading lot size, in preparation for the vacation I'm going to take soon. The plan is to keep trading through the holidays, to collect data (Pip Expectancy does not depend on lot sizes), and resume trading with regular lots on Jan 15, 2012.

When I started the NextLevelForex project, I had a very strong reason for picking (semi-)automated trading: I wanted a business that I can put on hold whenever I want, for as long as I want. Now the time came to put that feature to the test, since I’m soon going to take a longer vacation… To my surprise, I had a good amount of hesitation. “Why should I stop trading? that will just mess up my stats”, “there is a high chance the next two weeks are going to be quite profitable, so let’s trade for just a few more days”, and other similar rationalizations were going through my head. Luckily, I was able to recognize them, and today (2011.11.29) at 9:40 PST I pulled the plug!

Here is the status and the plans moving forward, for the systems on my public profile:
  01A - S: stopped today; may resume trading on Jan 15; due to poor performance, also considering replacing the system
  02A - A: continue to run with minimum lot size = a lot smaller (10x - 30x) than regular; plan to resume trading on Jan 15
  03A - G: continue to run with minimum lot size = a lot smaller (5x - 20x) than regular; plan to resume trading on Jan 15
  04A - T: stopped today; may resume trading on Jan 15; due to poor performance, also considering replacing the system
  16M - M06: not traded, since the trader and I agreed on something that did not happen yet; keep on hold until Jan 15

Hi Remus,

I have subscribed to your newsletter, thanks. I am interested in automated trading but am very new to it. I have manually traded FX for five years and wanted more information on 03A-G. Is it your script/EA? You mention mastermind groups etc and I wanted to know more about getting access to your EA plus a group of traders that have knowledge of automated trading. Can you let me know your thoughts?

There is nothing to announce publicly yet. I expanded a lot in 2011, in many directions, so the first part of 2012 will probably be a period of contraction, like consolidating accounts, getting rid of some EAs, getting rid of one RE property, and so forth.

Even though I would very much like to keep this account in place, since it has the longest history among all my MT4 accounts, I decided to stop trading it and liquidate the balance. Primary reason: the performance at MB Trading is very much lagging, when comparing it with the results obtained using the same system(s) at other brokers! Plus I just discovered execution issues (see the group of trades opened on a NZDUSD spike, March 21st, at 13:54; there should be only 1 trade opened per pair, at any given time, but there were 6 on that occasion; while that could be attributed to the inability of the EA to handle certain errors, I have to say it’s not the only EA that had this behavior, and that I only encountered it at MB Trading).
