So you prefer MT4 or another platform? What platforms did you use so far?

1.Horrible Order Processing

2.Execution Lag

3.Expensive

4. Metaquotes wants to control whole trading ecosystem from pre trade to post trade even clearing and liquidity provision and charge a penny each levels

They have become greedy and proud

Certainly not for the brokers...

its very expensive for brokers ...and metaquotes charges for so many other things...basically it wants to make brokers a slave to them

metaquotes should focus on MT6 and listen to traders

MT5 will allow metaquotes to charge for every trade on their platform

they have become greedy... the features on mt5 can be put on mt4 but metaquotes wants to control everyone and everything

MT5 does not have huge technologies that cannot be added to mt4

they want SaS model and charge brokers and traders to use it

their arrogance is shocking

They just added another update to Metatrader 5 concerning identification protection (https://smnweekly.com/2016/12/02/mt5-trading-platform-introduces-two-factor-protection/). They are really going forward with the plan for now. I am so used to MT4, I have no idea what I would move on if it stopped working.

After all I think we will survive even if MT4 stops existing at all 😄 I will spend more time on checking and learning MT5 in the near future to be ready to move to the next level once needed.

NO more updates for MT4. That sucks. I can't be bothered to convert all my EA to MT5 and learn everything again.

But maybe it is a quick fix as explained earlier in this discussion? If I understood correctly, it is a matter of updating some definitions in the code, but I cannot say for sure.

Metaquotes have announced that they will no longer update MT4 as they focus on MT5. (https://www.forexbrokerz.com/news/mt4-stops-developing-mt4). MT4 continues to be the preferred choice of most traders, despite the numerous improvements being made to the MT5 lately, especially the adding of the hedging option.

I have no desire to move to MT5. I don't like it, I don't find it to be as reliable or as intuitive as MT4.

MT4 is excellent for trading. MT5 is excellent for information, but it limits the trading a bit.
Many are still referring to MT4

Well, those adjustments and changes will have to be necessary with the improvements that are being made.

How does it limit the trading? Do mean you cannot trade some instruments or maybe not that many indicators are there?

MT5 is very slow compared to MT4 in terms of placing and processing of orders esp market orders

Do you think such latency can be caused by the broker's server location compared to the trader's location? Or maybe bad Internet connection? Or you compared both platforms simultaneously with the same broker?
