MT4 is the best scam platform in existence.
it's made not for traders. it is made for brokers to manipulate prices.
I was at the exhibition for fx devs and saw that many developing companies offer program solutions to fnck up us, ordinary traders.

I think that the trading platform can be just a tool and it depends on how the broker is using it. It's not the platform that is the scam.

Either way, Metaquotes are definitely going full steam ahead with their plan - they just released a new update for Metatrader 5 for IOS.The major updates include an improved One Click Trading panel and revamped design of the “Settings” section.

I think it is my worst decision in my life as trader to use MT4 for bots. I have invested years in programming and testing bots with MT4, now I can't use them anymore because they stop supporting the platform. I have also bought some bots, and I'm sure some of them are not available anymore on MT5. MT4 = biggest hoax in the trading scene EVER. 😡

MT4 could work without updates for years.
Windows server 2003 is no longer supported by Microsoft but it is still working OS

I have the distinct memory of my MT4 platform becoming unstable after a while without an update though. The problem could have been in my computer, of course. My main concern is what happens when MT4 becomes incompatible with new versions of Windows, those change every few years after all.

I wanted to learn to program in MQL4... So you would advise me not to it and to start directly with MQL5?
I read that MQL4 was user friendly and easy to learn for beginners. MQL5 isn´t. They have nearly nothing in common. It´s like comparing english and russian.

Who said that? they talking rubbish. You can take MQL4, change a few naming conventions and it will work in MT5. I would suggest starting with MQL5 so that you don't carry MQL4 habits over to MQL5, and MQL5 has a lot more to offer in functionality.

Try this for size...

it's really that simple to convert from 4 to 5, that's really all there is to it. Best to ask around for more opinions than putting my opinion against another (I don't much appreciate people telling me I'm wrong by simply throwing one article in my face about someone else's opinion online - is he right because he has an article with bad grammar online, or is he right, period. I will however concede defeat if proven beyond an opinion piece ;-)). Also, that article was written in 2012... a lot has changed since.
