Can anyone recommend what settings to use with a news filter? I'm thinking that I should stop trading on medium or high impact news events 2 minutes before and 2 minutes after. Thoughts?

How about you analyse it first and check the authenticity before making any decision for your trades.

Check the spreads. Spread always widens just before news and narrows after most of the impact is gone. If anything of significance hits the market, long before it's news, you will see it in the spreads.

You can give it a good thought and make an analysis of it and pay close attention to your strategy and spreads before trading.

You've made a good point. If strategy and spread are not right, trading is impossible.

You should always make sure to test it out and recheck what you’re doing and then proceed.

EA trading is good if you know the market well.

I recommend new traders shouldn’t try EA.
